Michelle lingers by the makeup mirror as I photograph her through another mirror. She waits patiently for me to finish shooting and idly touches herself (#1). I studied archeology in college and remember the Minoan culture, where women rouged their lips and nipples, had wild stringy hair, and rode bareback on bulls (#2)! Michelle, with her exotic eyes and full body tan, makes me think of women from that period (#3). Michelle tells me her boyfriend did her fingernails and toenails--he used a black under layer with yellow on top--and she said his doing her nails turns her on (#4). I get a lot of mail wanting to see women apply makeup. What is the fascination? Where did it come from? In any case, I now find myself shooting women at the mirror (#5).
